This page explains how account setup and profile customization work in Duio, from your first login through managing your portfolio and dashboard. These steps help tailor your experience while ensuring your public profile accurately represents your work, skills, and availability.
Onboarding: Tailor Your Experience
After creating a new account, you are welcomed by a guided onboarding flow called Tailor Your Experience. This step-by-step process helps Duio understand your goals and prepares your dashboard and portfolio for how you intend to use the platform.
To begin onboarding, click Get Started.
Step 1: What Do You Want to Do?
The first step allows you to choose what you are most interested in doing on Duio. These selections help prioritize features and content you will see when returning to the platform.
You can select one or more of the following:
Join a Game Project
Indicates interest in collaborating on existing projects.
Explore Art & Content
Surfaces creative work shared by other users, including art, games, and media.
Find Team Members
Focuses your experience on discovering collaborators for your projects.
Host a Game Project
Prepares your workspace for creating and managing your own projects.
Explore Forums
Highlights community discussions and shared knowledge.
Explore Job Posts
Emphasizes job opportunities and professional listings.
These preferences can be adjusted later and do not lock you into a specific path.
Step 2: Personalize Your Portfolio
The second step allows you to optionally personalize your portfolio by adding visual identity elements.
You may:

Upload a profile picture

Upload a banner image for your portfolio header
These elements help establish your presence on Duio and are visible to other users when they view your portfolio. This step is optional and can be updated at any time.
Step 3: You’re Good to Go
The final step introduces what you can expect to do on Duio. This step confirms that onboarding is complete and sets expectations for how the platform can be used.

Create a portfolio that highlights your skills, roles, projects, and achievements.

After reviewing this information, click Launch Duio.io to enter your dashboard for the first time.
Understanding Your Dashboard
Your dashboard serves two purposes:

Most elements on your dashboard directly correspond to what is visible on your portfolio page.
Dashboard Sections
Portfolio Header
The portfolio header displays key identity and availability information, including:

This header is the primary visual representation of your presence on Duio.
Looking for Work Toggle
A switch option allows you to enable or disable the Looking for Work status.
When enabled:

Other users can see that you are available for job opportunities

Your profile becomes more discoverable for work-related interactions
This setting can be changed at any time.
Bio Section
The bio section allows you to write and update a personal biography for your portfolio.
Use this space to:

Your bio is visible to other users viewing your portfolio.
Time Zone
The time zone section displays your current time zone, which is managed through account settings.
This helps collaborators understand availability and coordinate across regions.
Job Alerts
The job alerts section allows you to:

This section is especially useful if you are actively looking for work or freelance opportunities.
Achievements
The achievements section displays awards you have earned for completing specific actions across Duio.

Managing Roles and Account Settings
From your dashboard, you can:

First-Time Completion Bonus
First-time users will see a banner above their portfolio header prompting them to complete their portfolio.
